Two Types of Relativists
While discussing Ruyong Wang’s unequivocal linearization of the Sagnac effect, I have come to realize there are 2 philosophical camps of relativists:
Covariant relativists have to disregard the generalization of the Sagnac effect, or don’t know about the problem.
Pure relativists are forced to embrace a reality which is wholly relative to the observer.

The important distinction here, is that the covariant relativist believes that Special and General Relativity can be reliably used to make “pre-dictions.” (dynamics)
The pure relativist has realized, and accepted, that the theories exclusivley make ad-hoc “post-dictions” (purely kinematic). Pure relativists have accepted the philosphical and religious leap that must be taken, of a universe which is wholly relative to the observer.
When one is forced to Lorentz transform a local Sagnac effect, and deny the direct relationship of the velocity of the moving fiber, with the velocity of c, one is forced to deny logic, and take a massive philosphical leap.
